Mathemagica is an online professional development program for K-8 teachers that uses rich multimedia content to strengthen mathematical knowledge and improve instruction. Mathemagica provides teachers with a supportive environment as they explore math concepts through hands-on activities and then share and construct new understandings in a collaborative online environment. Mathemagica’s goals are:

• Deepen teachers’ understanding of mathematics and build confidence in their ability to teach math.
• Encourage and support classroom uses of technology for mathematics learning.
• Create online communities through which teachers learn together, reflect on teaching and student learning, and support one another’s changing practice.

Mathemagica provides a portfolio of web-based tools and professional development materials that engage a wide range of learners and address a range of national standards and mathematical concepts.
