Providing Support Brings Success

As most teachers would tell you, helping people to succeed in today’s complex workplace is quite a challenge. Jane McGovern, Coordinator of the Distance Learning Program and instructor for the Center for Literacy (CFL) in Philadelphia, PA, will confirm that for the underserved and hard-to-reach adults, success in the workplace can seem especially elusive. Even so, McGovern offers a unique perspective about how many of these adults are reaching their goals and are successfully preparing to move into the workplace. Find out more about these students’ remarkable accomplishments, supported by McGovern’s successful student-centered approach, using the Workplace Essential Skills multimedia, a distance learning program produced by the PBS LiteracyLink Star Schools project.
