RIFNet®

Distance learning service of Reading is Fundamental, Inc. (RIF), RIFNet^® delivers children's literacy training and information nationwide to 400,000 RIF volunteers, as well as educators and child care professionals. RIFNet broadcasts via satellite television through multiple distance learning networks, including the Dish Network (DBS), Star Schools satellite networks, Public Television state networks, state departments of education, educational/public access cable systems, videos, CD-ROMs and the Internet.

All of these programs foster a sense of community among RIF volunteers, and support their work in RIF programs, which prepare and motivate children of all ages to read. RIFNet also produces training materials that help child care professionals encourage early literacy development, and programming that demonstrates the variety and richness of children's literature, as well as how to share it effectively with children.
