We've reached the half-way point in our tutorial in online distance learning. Unit 1 has focused on the medium itself. We've asked you to think about teaching and learning in the online setting in light of your classroom teaching experience.
In Unit 2, we'll take up the "how-to" questions -- how to organize your content, how to select tools and technologies for presentation and interaction. First, though, we think it would be valuable for you to stop and take stock of your experience so far.
You'll be creating a resource to meet the needs of distance learners. Your work will be better if it is informed by your own experience as a distance learner. For this reason, we're asking you to write a short reflective piece about that experience.
Our work as instructional designers who support and maintain this resource will also be better if it is informed by your experience. Therefore, we are also asking you to write a short memo to us, with your specific suggestions for improving this resource.
