  1. Research Resources
    • World Lecture Hall offers links to pages by academic experts in thousands of topics.
  2. Interactivities
    • S.C.O.R.E., the Schools of California Onlne Resources for Educators Cyberguides are detailed unit plans, complete with Internet links , designed by teachers and keyed to curriculum standards.
    • IBM Unit Studies, a list of Internet activities and lessons sorted by calendar month and labeled with subject area and intended grade level.
    • Blue Web'n Learning Sites Library, a searchable online database of Internet learning sites, sorted by subject, audience (grade level) and type of activity.
  3. Online Mentoring
    • Telementoring Young Women in Science, Math and Engineering matches female high school students with women working professionally in mathematics, science and engineering careers in a structured mentoring relationship that persists through the school year.
    • The Hewlett Packard EMail Mentoring Project matches Hewlett Packard volunteers world-wide in partnerships with selected students and their teachers.
    • The Electronic Emissary Project is a screened database of "subject matter expert" volunteers whom teachers can recruit to supplement curriculum for the entire class, or to support individual students on specific projects.

    • Classrooom Connect bills itself as "the premier Web site for K-12 teachers and students." Its resources include links to the MayaQuest and AfricaQuest expeditions.
  5. Net Courses
    • Athabasca University, Canada's Open University, uses electronic media to deliver full degree programs in selected fields, as well as traditional home-study courses for college credit.
    • The CLASS project is the foundation for credit-bearing courses in the Independent Study High School, a Star Schools program hosted at the University of Nebraska's Lincoln campus.
    • StarNet, a consortium of schools in 40 states, offers a variety of interactive distance learning opportunities, including K12 courses that use online and broadcast media, and student enrichment experiences.
